Apps & API Keys
In Intentgine, an App represents a single application or tenant integrating with the API. It is the primary container for configuration, usage tracking, and billing.
An App belongs to a Team. You can create multiple Apps within a Team to separate different environments (e.g., “Production”, “Staging”) or different products.
Each App has its own:
- API Key: For authentication.
- Configuration: Quality tiers, cache settings.
- Memory Bank Assignments: Which banks are searched during resolution.
- Usage History: Logs of all API calls and costs.
- Subscription: Billing commitment and rate limits.
API Keys
Section titled “API Keys”When you create an App, you are issued an API Key starting with sk_live_.
- Security: This key is shown only once. We store a cryptographic hash of the key, not the key itself. If you lose it, you must regenerate it (which invalidates the old one).
- Usage: Exchange this key for a short-lived JWT via
POST /v1/auth, then use the JWT for all API requests. See Authentication.
App Configuration
Section titled “App Configuration”You can configure the following settings for each App via the Developer Console:
Allowed Quality Tiers
Section titled “Allowed Quality Tiers”Restricts which quality tiers (low, medium, high) this App can request. Useful for cost control.
Default Quality Tier
Section titled “Default Quality Tier”The tier used if the quality parameter is omitted in API requests.
Advanced Cache
Section titled “Advanced Cache”Toggles Advanced Cache Mode on or off.
